Since October 2025, learning to code through SheCodes.io and enjoying the journey of digital experience and discovery.

About Me

Frontend learner

Before starting my coding journey, I studied BA in Social Work and MA in Conflict, Governance and Global Development at university. I have worked within the Local Authority and the homeless charitable sector for the last 20 years. My role has been working with Childrens' Services and adults with dual diagnosis in emergency homeless hostels supporting their day to day needs. In the last 4 years I have become a Health and Wellbeing Navigator where I support people at risk of homelessness to attend their physical and mental health appointments and work closely with the public, private and charitable partners. Despite enjoying my role, I have decided to explore different career paths where I can add my own creativity, learn new skills and work remotely for better work/life balance. That is when I came across the SheCodes.io Basics Workshops and signed up to the SheCodes.io Bootcamp program for absolute beginners. I am learning the necessary coding skills in the most popular coding languages to build a portfolio with real-life projects and learn what is needed to start my journey as a trainee junior developer. My motto is simple:
