Since October 2025, learning to code through SheCodes.io and enjoying the journey of digital experience and discovery.
Before starting my coding journey, I studied BA in Social Work
and MA in Conflict, Governance and Global Development at university.
I have worked within the Local Authority and the homeless charitable
sector for the last 20 years. My role has been working with Childrens'
Services and adults with dual diagnosis in emergency homeless hostels
supporting their day to day needs. In the last 4 years I have become
a Health and Wellbeing Navigator where I support people at risk of
homelessness to attend their physical and mental health appointments
and work closely with the public, private and charitable partners.
Despite enjoying my role, I have decided to explore different career
paths where I can add my own creativity, learn new skills and work remotely
for better work/life balance. That is when I came across the SheCodes.io
Basics Workshops and signed up to the SheCodes.io Bootcamp program for absolute
beginners. I am learning the necessary coding skills in the most popular coding
languages to build a portfolio with real-life projects and learn what is needed to
start my journey as a trainee junior developer.
My motto is simple:
A collection of projects I have built while learning to code through SheCodes.io
An AI-powered generator that creates poems, stories and more based on user keywords. Built with JavaScript and integrated with an AI API.
A real-time weather app that displays temperature, humidity, wind speed and conditions for any city worldwide using a live API.
A live world clock app that displays the current time and date for cities around the globe. Users can select any cities to see its local time in real-time.
Semantic markup and web standards
Modern Layout, animations, and responsive design.
Interactive features and logic implementation.
General purpose programming and scripting.
Building dynamic and component - based UIs.
Version control and collaborative development.
